Ngaru - Yrs 3 & 4
Room 1 - Ngaru Team leader - Brigid Fyfe
Brigid uses her special skills to enhance the learning of her students. She is an experienced teacher with very well structured literacy and numeracy programmes and rich learning experiences across the rest of the curriculum. Brigid has real strengths in Te Ao Māori and leads this by example in her classroom.
Room 3 - Shannon Tep
Mrs Tep provides high quality literacy and numeracy programmes. She is a highly reflective and effective teacher with a warm and caring approach to her work. In addition, Mrs Tep has a very strong interest in Te Reo and Tikanga Māori and enjoys sharing her expertise with students and staff in our school.
Room 11 - Tania Hammond
Mrs Hammond joined us in 2018 after spending many years in education. Mrs Hammond is an excellent teacher of literacy, having trained in reading recovery. She also is passionate about teaching mathematics, and has led this area in previous schools. Mrs Hammond is a bubbly, positive, and motivated teacher who builds strong positive relationships with her students.
Room 12 - Kate Clydesdale
Miss Clydesdale returned to St Clair School in 2019 after two years in Queenstown. Miss Clydesdale brings strengths in literacy along with a vast understanding and history of teaching at St Clair school. Miss Clydesdale provides a passionate learning experience for our children, especially with visual arts. Miss Clydesdale will be with us until the end of term 2.
Room 13 - Stef Gray-Holland
Mrs Gray joined us in 2018, and taught in both Takutai and Ngaru teams over this time. Mrs Gray comes to us after nine years teaching in Auckland. Mrs Gray is a passionate educator who has strengths in her relationship building with children and families, as well as physical education.
Room 1 - classroom release teacher -Jody Quedley
Jody provides the leadership release in team Ngaru, and teaches in room 1 on Fridays. Jody is our ORS specialist teacher and joins us in 2020 with a wealth of teaching experience both in New Zealand and overseas.
Learning Support - Trish Ashton
Trish provides comprehensive learning support to children in our middle learning team. Her caring manner, effective support techniques and great sense of humour make her popular with children and adults alike. Trish teaches our ESOL (English Second Language Learners) across the school, and has vast experience with these children and their needs.
Learning Support - Jo Preston
Jo has been a much valued member of our support staff for a number of years. Her work is focused on learning support and social skill development. Her work ethic is much appreciated, and her willingness to do whatever is needed for our children is valued.
Learning Support - Helen Hughes
Helen is an important member of the Ngaru team. Her calm, professional manner ensures she is able to support children to achieve their best in their learning. Helen is an efficient, dedicated and competent member of our team.
Learning Support - Janaya Moore
Janaya joined us in 2019, working with individual children to support them in the classroom. Janaya's calm, understanding nature are strengths, as well as her enthusiasm to learn and help out where needed.
Learning Support - Paula McGill
Paula is a valued member of our support team. She supports individual students in the junior team, enabling them to participate and engage in their learning.
Learning Support - Carmen Garrett
Carmen is a significant member of our support team. Her focus on individuals' needs and her sense of fun make her a valuable member of our team. She is very caring of her colleagues and works hard to keep everyone looked after.
Learning Support - Pania Douglas
Pania joined us in 2019 as a learning support member in team Takutai. Pania has been involved in schools for many years with paid and unpaid work. She brings a calm positivity to our team, and has a great depth of empathy and understanding for the children she supports.
Learning Support - Sean Hsieh
Sean joined us in 2018 and brings a huge understanding on how to support learning for children. Sean is from Taiwan, and is an experienced primary and secondary science teacher. We are lucky to have him supporting our children with their learning.
Learning Support - Karena Turnock
Karena has joined us in 2019 and provides a gentle caring support for children at out school. Karena works quietly with children, helping them learn the things that are important to them.
